18th Annual Juried Art Exhibit opens with Aug. 7 reception

River City Art Association will display its 2026 juried art exhibit Aug. 7-31 in the lobby of First Financial Bank Plaza at Sixth Street and Wabash Avenue in downtown Terre Haute, Indiana.

The 18th annual event featuring works by Wabash Valley artists opens with a reception from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 7, and awards ceremony at 6:30.

Clive Jachnik, 2026 Exhibit Judge

Winners in seven categories, as well as the Best of Show, will be announced by exhibit judge Clive Jachnik, trained in the Scottish Colorist tradition of painting, and a photographer known for producing large black and white images in the American Secessionist style.

The Artist Choice and People’s Choice awards will be determined from votes by participating artists attending the reception and by patrons viewing the exhibit through Aug. 31.

Admission is free on opening night and during regular bank hours.

In addition to First Financial Bank, exhibit sponsors include Arts Illiana, Mic’s Pics Photo & Digital Solutions, Wabash Valley Fabrics and MuseArt of Terre Haute.
