RCAA photographer’s work chosen for Hoosier Women Artists exhibition in Indiana Statehouse

Falls of Spring by Debbie Goodin

River City Art Association member Debbie Goodin of Terre Haute recently entered one of her photographs in the Hoosier Women Artists competition sponsored by Lt. Governor Suzanne Crouch, State Treasurer Kelly Mitchell and the Indiana Arts Commission.

The annual competition was established in 2008 as a way to celebrate the importance of the arts in Indiana’s communities and showcase the work of talented female artists throughout the state.

Debbie was notified this week that out of the 208 entries, her image titled “Falls of Spring” was one of those chosen to be displayed in the Indiana State Capitol in Indianapolis as part of a year long exhibit. She and other honorees have been invited to a May 19 celebration at the Statehouse.

In addition, the Haan Mansion Museum of Indiana Art has invited the 2017 honorees to be featured in a special exhibition in the Haan Museum, titled Hoosier Women Artists: Works Selected for the Statehouse. This exhibition will run from August 3, 2018 through October 27, 2018.
