Congrats to River City Art Association’s Marty Jones of Terre Haute, recipient of the James Mason Service Award presented at the Wabash Valley Audubon Society’ recent annual meeting.

The award is given to a person or group who has done something outstanding for bird conservation or environmental education in Indiana.

As of January 2016, Jones has photographed 329 species of birds in Indiana and maintains a Birds of Indiana flicker site with over 1,100 photos, the WVAS noted in announcing the award. He also has taught bird photography and ID classes in the community, and has guided several field trips for the Aububon Society.

Jones often shares his photographs in gallery exhibits throughout state, individually as well as with River City Art Association.

The local society recognized Jones for several other accomplishments and contributions. Read more on Tribstar.com.
