RCAA member Kari Rajkumar featured artist in March at Clabber Girl

River City Art Association member Kari Rajkumar of Paris, Ill., is the featured artist in March at The Gallery in Clabber Girl Museum in Terre Haute.

An opening reception to meet Kari is scheduled Friday, March 2, from 6-8:00 p.m.

Kari is a professional portrait artist recognized regionally, nationally and internationally in exhibitions and competitions.

Her work recently was recognized in the 11th Biennial National Art Exhibition in the Visual Arts Center of Punta Gorda in Florida.

Her fine art oil portrait titled “Aaronaut” received the Bowles Award for Portrait Excellence.

The National Art Exhibit (NAE) is one of the nation’s most prestigious juried exhibitions of two-dimensional media.

“Aaronaut”  and “Autumn Walk” pictured here are among 3 works Kari has on display through March 20 in Punta Gorda. “Aaronaut” also was recently selected as a finalist in the Artist’s Magazine’s 34th Annual Art Competition — an international competition of five categories. (Last November, “Autumn Walk’ received Best of Show at a juried art competition celebrating Union Hospital’s 125th anniversary in Terre Haute.)

Kari also works in pastels and graphite. Her exhibit at Clabber Girl will feature several of her earlier fine art works.
