River City Art Association reopened “Santa’s Art Gallery” Dec. 1st at the Oberlandler Shelter in Deming Park at Terre Haute, Indiana.
This is the 12th year RCAA has participated in the Christmas in the Park shelter decorating contest sponsored by First Financial Bank in Terre Haute and hosted by the Terre Haute Parks Department.
This is the third year that RCAA members have created artwork to display in “Santa’s Art Gallery.” The 2025 artists include Debra Butler, Bob DeFrance, Madison King, Michelle Lee, Mike Lunsford, Mary Mayhew, Ebbie McInerney, Maddie Plant, Michael Stevenson, Todd Stokes, Sheila K. Ter Meer and Kris Toney.

In 2014, RCAA members created their first display, “Santa Gets The Picture,” in the Terre Haute South Rotary Shelter. They later decorated a Lions Shelter before moving to the Oberlandler Shelter to display “Peace on Earth,” followed by “The River City Express” and “Christmas Morning Surprises!”
The grand opening for “Santa’s Art Gallery” took place in 2023. In 2024, “Santa’s Art Gallery” was awarded First Place by the event judges. It also received the People’s Choice Award determined by visitors to the park on the first week in December.
