RCAA artists take Best of Show, 1st Place honors at Covered Bridge Art Association Associate Members’ Show in July

CBAA 2019 Assoc. Member Best of Show and Most Popular winner Eugene Thomas for “Rockville Square.”

Congratulations to Eugene Thomas of Fairview Park near Clinton, Indiana, for his First Place and Best of Show and Most Popular entry “Rockville Square” in the Covered Bridge Art Association Associate Members’ Show which opened July 1 in the CBAA Gallery in Rockville, Indiana.

A closing reception is set for 2 to 4 p.m. July 28. (The Most Popular Award is determined by patrons visiting the show.)

Judge Joan Kisner of Danville, Indiana selected Eugene’s  oil painting titled “Rockville Square” for the overall winner.

In the Mixed Media category, First Place went to Edith Action of Terre Haute, Indiana for her fused glass entry, “Patchwork.”

In the Photography category, First Place went to Sheila K. Ter Meer of Brazil, Indiana for her “Sycamore Frost.”

Earlier this year, “Sycamore Frost” also received First Place in the TREES Inc. “Shades of Winter” Photography Contest in the Vigo County Public Library in Terre Haute.

Sheila also received an Honorable Mention at the CBAA Associate Members’ Show for her photography entry, “Chihuly Glass Ceiling.”

In May of this year, this piece also received a First Place in the Photography category at Wabash Valley Art Guild’s 39th Annual Spring Art Show in Clabber Girl Museum in Terre Haute.
