Here’s a sneak preview of what’s coming soon to a newstand in Terre Haute, Indiana.
A future issue of “Spectrum” magazine published by Arts Illiana Inc. will feature River City Art Association’s Valerie Funk.
Watch for it … and we will update you here as well!
The Terre Haute, Indiana resident is RCAA’s most prolific artist in the fabric and threads medium. She has won numerous awards and honors in her field of expertise – quilt artistry – at shows and exhibitions in Terre Haute, Indiana, and throughout the Midwest!
Valerie also is an accomplished photographer and graphic designer. Her background in both these fields of expertise inspire her to create great things in her preferred medium.
Last year, Valerie received First Place in the Mixed Media category at RCAA’s 10th Annual Juried Exhibition. She also incorporated her designs on a Coca-Cola bottle sculpture for Corporate Square in the first round of the Root Family Public Art Project (in cooperation with the Vigo County Historical Society and Museum) in Terre Haute.
Congratulations to Valerie and kudos to Arts Illiana for recognizing another Wabash Valley talent!
