RCAA’s Valerie Funk awarded Grand Champion, other honors at Vigo County Fair

Grand Champion: Moonlit by Valerie Funk

Congratulatons to River City Art Association member Valerie Funk of Terre Haute for receiving 5 Blue Ribbons, Champion and Grand Champion honors for her quilt entries in the Open Class at the Vigo County Fair in Terre Haute.

Blue Ribbon winner: Valerie made this quilt as a gift for an upcoming wedding.

The fair runs through next weekend so check our her “Moonlit,” which received a Blue Ribbon and Champion in its category and Grand Champion over all the needle craft projects.

A quilt Valerie made for a wedding gift received a Blue Ribbon as did the three other quilts in the photo below.

The quilt in the center, “Reverence,” is a piece Valerie said she designed in Adobe Illustrator several years back while she was still in college. Since then she returned to this piece several times and continued to utilize her design.
