River City Art Association members Todd Stokes, Sheila K. Ter Meer and Spencer Young hosted a free art activity and drawing for children and adults at the Sept. 21 Indiana Bicentennial Torch Relay celebration along the banks of the Wabash River in Fairbanks Park at Terre Haute.

The Terre Haute Bicentennial Steering Committee invited RCAA and other organizations to provide interactive and bicentennial-themed events to help Vigo County celebrate and commemorate Terre Haute’s and Indiana’s 200th year anniversaries.
In addition to Indiana-themed drawing and coloring activities, RCAA members shared their photographic works of the Wabash River – the official state river and namesake of the art association – and encouraged the community to visit RCAA’s “Indiana Heritage Art Exhibition,” a Bicentennial Legacy Project on display throughout September in The Gallery at Clabber Girl Museum in Terre Haute.
