River City Art Association member Judith Lynn Smith has two oil paintings featured in The Crow Show in Arts Illiana at Terre Haute. Her artwork titled “Crow’s Nest” and “On the Fence” can be viewed through April 22 in the gallery at 23 N. Sixth St.
About the artist:
After a life-long love of art, Judith Lynn Smith had the opportunity to learn oil painting – and it very quickly became her ‘passion’. Judith has explored a variety of subjects – which has enabled her to exhibit in a variety of exhibitions and venues – from abstract art to realistic landscapes and seascapes – from contemporary sunrises and sunsets to her popular sea and exotic bird paintings. She has also found an audience for her lighthouses, mountain scenes, and still life.
Judith has a style that contains both impressionist and realistic influences – as well as a contemporary design flair that is most notable in her still lifes and birds. She depends on correct drawing techniques, with a strong feeling for balance & composition. Many of her paintings feature bold colors – while others depend on values derived from a limited palette, or even gray & white.
Judith is involved in exhibitions and competitions throughout our state. She is a member of several art galleries, groups, guilds and clubs in Central Indiana. This has enabled her to meet and work with many artists – who have been so supportive and encouraging. She has paintings on exhibit in Noblesville, Zionsville, Terre Haute, Indianapolis, and Crawfordsville, and various exhibitions and competitions throughout central Indiana and eastern Illinois.
