Four River City Art Association members have award-winning artwork in the Covered Bridge Art Association Associate Members Show on display this month in The Art Gallery in Rockville, Indiana.
Best of Show went to Deborah Anderson for her wood inlay piece “Together Through Turmoil.” In addition to this Blue Ribbon winner, Anderson’s second wood inlay entry, “All That Jazz,” received an Honorable Mention in the annual show.
Anderson’s work has received numerous awards at competitions throughout the state including last year’s Associate Members show.
RCAA founding member Monty “Indiana” Jones received Blue Ribbon honors for his painting titled “King of the Oak.” Jones also received a Second Place for his painting, “Hawthorn Park Trail.” Jones also was a winner at last year’s show.
Sheila K. Ter Meer’s photo on giclée canvas titled “I Spy With My Little Eye” also took First Place honors. In 2014, Ter Meer won Best of Show.
Edith Acton’s fused glass wall art titled “Broken But Whole” received Third Place honors in this year’s show.
A reception to meet this year’s artists is scheduled 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, July 26 in the The Art Gallery on the courthouse square in Rockville.
Each year Associate members are invited to submit two pieces of artwork for the annual show. The artwork is featured throughout the month of July. Monetary awards are given and the Best of Show recipient receives a “One Person” show in August of the following year.
Deborah Anderson’s artwork will be featured in August 2016. This August, photography by 2014 Best of Show winner Sheila K. Ter Meer will be featured.
