Masonic Temple hosts open house, RCAA exhibition

The local Masonic fraternity invites the community to an open house, guided tour and art exhibition from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday in the Terre Haute Masonic Temple at 224 N. Eighth St.

The tour will introduce guests to George Ewing Farrington, Charles Cruft and other notable men in Terre Haute’s history memorialized in the picture galleries of the 1917 classical revival building. In addition to the ballroom, library, parlor, board room and card room on the first floor, the tour will include lodge rooms on the second and third floors used by the three Masonic lodges, three York Rite Masonic bodies, a Court of the Order of the Amaranth and Bethel 2, International Order of Job’s Daughters.

The open house also will feature live entertainment, light refreshment, and an exhibit by Wabash Valley artists sponsored by Valley Group-Insurance, Investments in Riley.

At 6 p.m., winners in the River City Art Association Sixth Annual Juried Exhibition will be announced by Ray Chen, executive director of Halcyon Contemporary Art Gallery.
