“the journey continues…” will be the solo art exhibit on display July 2-30 at The Gallery in the Hulman & Co./Clabber Girl Museum at 9th and Wabash in Terre Haute. The artist is Judith Lynn Smith of Waveland, a member of River City Art Association, Wabash Valley Art Guild, and Arts Illiana.
Her oil paintings have been viewed in Terre Haute at Swope Art Museum, Halcyon Contemporary Art Gallery, and the Arts Illiana exhibit area – as well as Community Theatre of Terre Haute, Vigo County Public Library, and WVAG and RCAA exhibitions.
Judith is originally from Indianapolis, and attended Indiana University. She has been an art enthusiast since childhood, and has taught art to all ages – children to adults. Judith has experienced many art mediums and crafts, from drawing to basket weaving. She only recently learned oil painting – and has enjoyed what she calls her ” journey.”
Judith paints the things she loves – landscapes, seascapes, still life, lighthouses, sailboats, birds, and abstracts.
The exhibit at The Gallery features some of her latest works. Visitors will enjoy her natural style that lends itself well to décor in homes and offices.
A special reception for Judith will be Thursday, July 17, from 4 to 6 p.m. This will be an opportunity to meet the artist, and view her original framed oil paintings on exhibit. Live music will be provided by the talented harpist Amy Auset Rohn. Hors d’ouevres and beverages will be served.
The paintings will be on exhibit at The Gallery July 2–30, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and Saturday, 8 a.m to 3 p.m.
