An auction of fine art, theme gift-baskets and other items begins at 8:00 pm. Pieces to be auctioned will be on display during the social hour and guests will be able to see the works of local artists Jo Rich, Scott Payne, Kate Meehling, Jane Ann Cline, Tom Dagley and more. Donations of art or other items are still being accepted for the benefit; artists should contact Jo Rich at 217-808-2115 for details.
The Gaslight Art Colony was formed in October of 2009 by local people who wished to expand the world of fine art in east central Illinois and surrounding communities. The not-for-profit organization is staffed by volunteers and is dedicated to offering classes to the community, providing a venue for the appreciation of fine art in all its forms, and supporting awareness of the arts in general. The annual summer benefit and art auction, Art, Wine & All That Jazz, is the main fundraiser and gala event for the Gaslight Art Colony.
Advance tickets for Art, Wine & All That Jazz are on sale now for $20. Tickets at the door, if they are still available, will sell for $25. Call 217-808-2115, stop by the Gaslight Art Colony itself, or see any board member: Bill Allen, Mary Lou Cornelison, Tom Dagley, Jack Davidson, Colleen Gard, Kathy Haskins, Kate Meehling, Scott Payne, Jo Rich, Sara Tarble, Debbie Welsh or Edie Breneman.
