Winter theme by December Artists of the Month

December Artists of the Month

Sleigh bells ring. Are you listening? In the lane inside the Vigo County Public Library in Terre Haute, snow is glistening.

A beautiful sight – and River City Art Association is happy tonight – to announce that this and more is happening every day through Dec. 30.

Wintry scenes and a few of RCAA members’ favorite things is the theme of their December Artist of the Month gallery space in the main library at Seventh and Poplar streets. Participating Wabash Valley artists are Debra Butler, Bob DeFrance, Madison King, Mary Mayhew, Todd Stokes, Sheila K. Ter Meer and Kris Toney.

Oil and acrylic paintings, a wood carving, photography and a watercolor will by day deck the hall between the lobby and the computer lab.

Santa also will be there looking over your shoulder from across the hall, so turn around and give him and former RCAA member JoAnne Perigo Fiscus a nod before leaving the art gallery.

And don’t leave Terre Haute before stopping by woods in Deming Park on any snowy December evening to see “Santa’s Art Gallery,” RCAA’s outdoor winter wonderland display in the annual Christmas in the Park shelter decorating contest.
