River City Art Association invites Indiana and Illinois artists to enter the 16th annual RCAA Juried Art Exhibit to be on display Aug. 2 through 29 in First Financial Bank Plaza at Sixth Street and Wabash Avenue, Terre Haute, Indiana. Competition is open to ages 18 and older.
An opening reception is set for 6 to 8 p.m. Aug. 2 with an awards ceremony at 6:30. Admission is free during the reception and regular banking hours through Aug. 29.
Exhibit juror is Amy MacLennan, curator at Swope Art Museum in Terre Haute, Indiana since September 2021. Before returning to her hometown, she was Associate Professor of Art and director of the Gallery of Art at McKendree University in Lebanon, Ill.
Entry fees are $30 for RCAA and Wabash Valley Art Guild members, $36 for nonmembers, and $15 for students (with valid student ID) for up to three entries per artist.

Artists who place in the art exhibit will have the option of displaying their artwork in a “Winner’s Show” in FFB’s Springhill branch Sept. 1 through 30.

REQUIREMENTS, ENTRY FORM, DELIVERY/PICKUP INSTRUCTIONS
Entry must be entirely original, completed within the last five years, and not previously entered in a juried RCAA exhibit.
All two-dimensional artwork must be suitably framed and wired for hanging. Art with “sawtooth hangers” and “clip frames” will not be accepted. Gallery-wrapped canvas paintings or photographs qualify.
RCAA reserves the right to reject work that is not suitably framed or is not suitable subject matter for public display.
The entry form with non-refundable fee (and copy of student ID) are due Friday, July 12, and can be mailed to RCAA 16th Annual Show, P.O. Box 3605, Terre Haute, IN 47803; or, emailed to toddBstokes@gmail.com and payment made at time of drop-off.
Deliver artwork to FFB’s Sixth Street entrance between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday, July 29. Art/artist identification tags must be attached to the back or bottom of each piece. Artists can pick up entries between noon and 4 p.m. Friday, Aug. 30.

MORE ABOUT THE JUROR
MacLennan is a versatile artist, working in a wide range of media, and exhibits her work nationally. She is a member of the figurative-based artist association, Midwest Paint Group. MacLennan has participated in several artist residencies, including Jentel in Wyoming, The Montana Artist Refuge in Basin, Montana, and the Eye-Land Institute in Butte, Montana. MacLennan earned her M.F.A. from Indiana State University and is married to painter Michael Neary.
