River City Art Association trumpets the coming of spring with an art show inspired by Mardi Gras, March madness, famous artists, kites aloft on March winds, the color green — and all things artfully mastered in between.
“March ARTmania” will open with a reception from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 1, in The Gallery at Clabber Girl Museum, 900 Wabash Ave.

Downtown Terre Haute’s First Friday theme salutes Dr. Seuss, children’s author/illustrator, political cartoonist and animator born Theodor Seuss Geise on March 2.
During “March ARTmania,” RCAA also celebrates other notable artists born in March: painter Sandro Botticelli (March 1), sculptor/painter Michelangelo (March 6), photographer Edward Weston (March 24), and painter Vincent van Gogh (March 30).

Forty-three works by 16 RCAA artists includes paintings, mixed media, clay, intarsia, pyrography, quilt artistry, photography, digital art, black-out poetry, and works made with glass.
“March ARTmania” will remain on display through noon March 29.
